Mr. Nobody

An icon of spaghetti westerns. Mr. Nobody is first and foremost the freedom to be recognised for what we are instead of being known only by our names. Montecariano presents a label dedicated to one of the defining moments of Italian cinema and one of its most comic characters: Mr. Nobody, the most hapless anti-hero of the Wild West.

DESIGNER LABEL

The brainchild of the great illustrator Renato Casaro, the Mr. Nobody label is a fitting tribute to a Western that helped make cinema history.

POSTER PAINTER

After the Second World War, the Italian film industry had a winning idea – to get the best artists in the country to illustrate the posters promoting new films. Renato Casaro is perhaps the pick of the bunch of ‘poster painters’, having designed dozens and dozens of iconic posters that have become part of modern Italian culture.

VENETO ROSSO IGT

The flair of the Montecariano winemakers is behind Mr Nobody, a red with real character developed in wooden barrels and specially designed amphorae.

VINIFICATION

The grapes are left to over-ripen on the vine. After harvesting, they are destemmed and gently pressed before fermenting in steel tanks at a constant temperature for around 25 days.

AGING IN STEEL TANKS

70% of the wine is left in next-generation amphorae for around 30 months and the remaining 30% matures in French oak barrels for around 36 months. The two wines are then assembled to create MR.Nobody.

SENSORY NOTES

Ruby red in colour with hints of garnet. On the nose, ripe red berries brimming with sweetness blend with notes of spices, mountain pine and peppermint. Elegant, well balanced and with exceptional freshness in the mouth.
